Tyler Carlson, MBA

Tyler is a Managing Director and Shareholder at Taureau Group, where he partners with business owners and companies to execute successful mergers and acquisitions. With more than 13 years of specialized M&A experience, Tyler focuses on the execution of sell-side and buy-side processes. He helps clients prepare companies for sale, develop targeted sell-side and buy-side strategies, run competitive marketing and auction processes, contact potential buyers or targets, and negotiate favorable transaction terms.

A former mechanical engineer and project manager at Brady Corporation, Tyler spent five years building deep operational expertise in industrial manufacturing, product design and development, Six Sigma methodologies, competitive market analysis, and quality assurance. This technical foundation, paired with his MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, gives him a rare, dual-lens perspective that allows him to identify and unlock value across industries including technology, manufacturing, business services, and distribution.

Tyler has been involved in over 75 projects spanning valuations, acquisitions, and sell-side advisory throughout his career. As a key leader at Taureau Group, he played a pivotal role in transforming the firm’s M&A practice from a service offering within a regional CPA firm into a fully independent, boutique investment banking platform focused on middle-market companies.
