Tyler Carlson, MBA

Director & Shareholder

Tyler holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota and worked in the engineering industry for five years. He pursued his MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Tyler is a licensed registered representative with expertise in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), having worked on over fifty projects. His extensive knowledge of two different professions gives him a unique perspective on the businesses he works with, including industrial manufacturing, product design and development, Six Sigma, and technology use cases.

With more than 11 years of M&A experience, Tyler works diligently to prepare companies for sale, developing buy- and sell-side strategies, analyzing financials, initiating the marketing process, speaking with potential targets, executing the auction processes, and negotiating transaction terms. As a Director and Shareholder of Taureau Group, Tyler was instrumental in supporting and building the M&A practice to transition from a regional CPA firm to a fully independent investment banking firm.

As an avid golfer and outdoor fanatic, Tyler is happy to discuss finance and investing, even when hitting the links or the slopes. Tyler’s wife and twin girls will agree: He loves to learn new, value-added things, and implement them in the Taureau Group process to improve the client experience.
